Well, a lot is going on here, as usual. Let me see how small of a nut-shell I can squeeze it into. The girls are talking up a storm, and as of today, all four kids sing...all the time.
Maddie likes Blake from American Idol, and really "got down" to his second song tonight. Sophie usually sings about her favorite things. We can't understand much, but we hear words that we recognize. "La do la cheese laa li looo Hobbies laaa di dooo baba liiiioooaaa Dada leeeeooo cookie..."and so one. It's pretty darn cute!
Last night Brian picked up some of the girls toys off the floor, and Sophie told him to "share". We were hysterical! The girls LOVE to share, well, except when they don't. Actually, "share" really just means, "You have to give me that now." They're obsessed with baby-wipes, and so when one of them asks me for one, I tear it in half, and give them both halves. Today, Maddie took both halves, and then yelled, "Soowie, Soowie, here go!" Maddie loves her "Soowie", and Sophie loves her "Maanie".
They're starting to become picky eaters! I can't believe it, it's my worst kid nightmare. I'm getting creative though. The cuter it is, the more they eat. Yesterday I made tiny heart enchiladas, with refried bean dipping sauce.
Graham sits up really well, but neither he or "Lil bit" are officially crawling yet. They play all the time though. We've moved them into separate cribs and they laugh at each other through the bars.
Brian and Stephen are starting work next week for a friend of their older brother. They're excited to get back to manual labor (just in time for the summer heat, right!). We'll miss them around here, but it seems like just the opportunity we were waiting on God to provide! It's been a huge blessing for us to have this family time. The girls have really gotten to know their Daddy for the first time, and we're very grateful that Mom has had the resources for us to stay here. We've decided to stay at least through the summer, before heading back to the Springs.
I've received a third grant writing offer, so every spare minute (umm...what's that?!) is taken, and I'm currently working on a better scheduling system for my time with the kids. I predict a whole lot of late nighters...then again, (check the time stamp) I do that anyway!
I guess that's all she wrote (cause it's late and she needs to get to bed!).
